Video of the Week:

Here’s the Barcelona-based music video for the new 2011 BATTLES single, “Ice Cream” (released back in May ) beautifully packed with creative imagery by director Luis Cerveró, who does more than justic for the experimental rock band’s sound and overall appeal.

Concerning this track, member Dave Konopka reported, “We asked Matias Aguayo to guest as a vocalist on this particular track, he kind of matched the level of sexiness that the song required. There was kind of an underlying level of sexiness that the song had and he kind of brought that out a little bit more”

Glass Drop,’ the new BATTLES album released a little over a month ago was the kick off to a spring tour. Blonde Redhead’s Kazu Makino, widely known electronic composer Gary Newman, and an array of other guest vocalists are the components that accompany main members Dave Konopka, Ian Williams, and John Stanier in BATTLES.

Most of their progressive and upbeat 2011 album is instrumental, offering a different and almost entirely music based take of modern sounds coming from their genre.

Also released off the new record with a different, more upbeat sound than the first single is the electronic-saturated song, ”Polish Girl” prepping audiences for an LP of love. Listen to it HERE.

After finalizing the recording of his new album in Helsinki this past winter, Neon Indian (Alan Palomo) is now touring Europe as well as the states.
